Actually there is a special command in the core for this kind of
stuff: reset. You could have just as easily done this: which is quite
cool (though possibly useless) effect:
{?var}
[form]
[text var]
[session reset_var "{?var}{=var}"]
[session passdata var]
[submit]
[form]
