Markus, I really appreciate your comments. They jolted me out of complacency. And while I generally liked our skin, after looking at the two links you sent and reading them through, I got adjusted to the openness of them. Then when I flipped back, the current skin really hit me as shockingly crowded. Yikes...
I have taken your comments seriously and worked up a completely new alternative skin, based on something I stumbled on to long ago and really liked.. And I've rewritten the text of the home page--and am rethinking a bit how the navigation might work... Let me know what you think so far. http://www.fast.st/boltwire/index.php?p=choice And just for sheer fun, I threw this page up to demonstrate the kind of thing snippets were designed for. http://www.fast.st/boltwire/index.php?p=choice.test I'd very much appreciate feedback on whether or not this is the direction we want to go or not. The skin is not really finished yet as there are a lot of tweaking and things necessary, but the broad layout is in place. I don't see any reason why we couldn't make a drastic upgrade of the core skin, and keep our existing one as a downloadable "classic" skin in the solutions area. Cheers, Dan P.S. You made many interesting points. The one that really jumped out at me, and perhaps was in my mind when I first started raising some of the questions, was some kind of ajax interface. Something for forms esp would be very powerful. I' suppose it should be possible to do something like the gui script on steroids without too much trouble. That would be way cool...
