Thanks Markus, I may not have been totaly clear in my first post.

I can create links in that manner.

I was trying to find out whether there was a simple way of discovering
all of the links on a site which have no pages associated with them -
so I could create the content, or alter the link to point to the
correct place.

It looks like "link rot" might do the trick.
