Hans, I've been testing things and so far it looks good. I only had one or two small problems I was able to fix by editing the page and get rid of some extra encoding. Not sure the cause--but very rare and easy to fix. Perhaps something caused by problems in one of the last couple releases with this experimental work.
Just for clarification: you didn't make any changes to the engine except adding the lines you mentioned in your email? Because I had several other fixes in my engine file I didn't want to lose--and just manually made that one change you talked about. I've incorporated your markups.php version into the core, however, and other than a couple problems (-> <-, && in conditionals, search, find) I was able to fix with little problem, it seems to be working great. Anyway, I'm happy with how the character coding issue is coming along. I'll try to put out a new release tomorrow, but I want to take a look at what you said about register globals. I really don't know anything about server administration, but I've heard of this issue before. Are you saying every variable declared globally somewhere in BoltWire needs to be initialized? That could be quite a process. :) There are some important fixes in this next release (including an important authorization problem). Hopefully we can get this one out soon and see what kind of feedback we get from others. I appreciate your help--and your call to excellence in BoltWire. I do want to see it become the best it can be.
