I really don't get the apparent desire to continue providing support for
PHP4 in Boltwire...

PHP4 has been "Unsupported" by the PHP Development Group since 2007-12-31 as
announced in July 2007.

http://php.net/releases/index.php
"Support for PHP 4 has been *discontinued* since 2007-12-31. Please consider
upgrading to PHP 5"

That makes it Unsupported coming up to 2 years now. 2 YEARS in computer
time is a long time.

I don't know of any major ISP that does not already use PHP5 or at least
offer a choice between PHP4 and PHP5 and most of those are dropping that
choice at the end of this year.

There are a number of security issues in PHP4 that have been addressed in
PHP5 that will never be addressed in PHP4.

Why is it that Boltwire needs to keep supporting PHP4 when the PHP
Development Group says you should be using PHP5?

Who is still using PHP4 in a production environment that makes this a
requirement?

Is anyone using Boltwire in the active group that is still using PHP4 ? If
so, Why are you doing that?
