It's been a while since I downloaded a fresh boltwire install, so for
all I know this may be old new, but I recently added the following to
my code.style page:
<style media=print type='text/css'><!--
#top, #bottom, #side {
display: none;
}
#main {
width: 100%;
border-top: 0px;
margin-left: 0px;
margin-bottom: 0px;
padding-top: 0px;
}
--></style>
This additional script only kicks in when sending pages to print, so
it works like the print action but without having to use an action for
it, one just prints normally.
It requires standards compliant browsers to work, though, so most
Internet Explorers wont.
Thankfully:
a) It doesn't break anything: this will work fine for those it works
for, the rest can use the print action as usual
b) None of my users (Students of natural science at Stockholms
University) use internet explorer.
