Hi...just a suggestion. while we don't still meet (for other
reasons), we did some organizing on our own, independent of
the "formal" meetup announcements. People in our area were contacted
and we had a successful meetup and then planned future ones while we
were together. I just don't have the time to coordinate it now, but
plan to contact the people soon & suggest a meeting. Try it!

meetup recently for the first time with 4 people showing up and lots
of good conversation and book exchanges. But then this month, my
meetup was hijacked. Meetup.com has appointed some type of meetup
coordinator who chooses the venue with no voting and moved my meetup
to another city entirely. I was so irritated that I unsubscribed,
but did ask to be notified if they start up a meetup In My City. Was
anybody else hijacked?
