Re: I sent a book off to Tehran, Iran yesterday and am feeling good about that. I consider it my good deed for the day. ---- Isn't it a lovely feeling. As a Christian I try to tithe my salary and I consider when I send things out strictly as donations (not rings / rays) as part of my tithing to the world. Off topic: My minister always encourages us to give money & energy where it is needed & says that sometimes that is not at the church. He is actually my former minister because he moved & then so did I but I used to be the treasurer at that church & each Sunday he would just place the collection plate at the front & say that about giving your money or energy where it is needed & maybe it is at the church but maybe not, with emphasis on the not. I'd be in the back whispering to someone that is all very well & good but someone needs to pay the electric bill. Luckily it always worked out. One Easter my sister was visiting & Greg (the minister) did his usual spiel & then declared that people SHOULD NOT come forward to put money in the plate but could do so after church if they wanted, just wanting to keep it low profile. He had done this before. Well, we all got up anyway & started filing toward the collection plate. My sister said to me "I thought we weren't supposed to do that!" I told her "Oh, we just ignore him."
