Greetings :) Since my ray for Elfquest, volume 1 has been such a hit, I'm now offering the next two of the series as bookrays. They'll be sent together, so you won't have to agonize over the cliffhanger in the middle.
the journal entries for book 1 can be found here, if you want to get a feel for the series: http://bookcrossing.com/journal/1715640/ Volumes 2 & 3 are here: http://midwinter.bookcrossing.com/journal/2083574/ http://.midwinter.bookcrossing.com/journal/2083606/ Volumes 2 & 3 continue this graphic novel series. As I mentioned in my original bookray announcement, these are not your traditional high fantasy elves - no regal Tolkein-esque poetry and banquets for these guys. Nor are they the pixie/sprites popular in European folklore. Nope - Cutter and his kin are a simple bunch of elves (with wolf companions) trying to live their lives without launching into a full-scale war with the territorial humans that live on the edges of the forest. As the story begins, the elves have to rescue one of their own from a charismatic human shaman looking for a ritual sacrifice, and the humans come seeking revenge. The elves are driven from their ancestral home, and the Quest begins. A Quest for a home, a quest for peace, a quest for answers... Wendi and Richard Pini have been spinning tales about the World of Two Moons for almost three decades now, and thanks to a recent deal with DC Comics, the original stories are being reissued in handy paperback sized, manga style volumes. All the original artwork and story are in the new volumes, but they have been scaled down and printed in a new black & white format. The beginnings and endings of the new volumes are slightly different than the original printing (making for more powerful cliffhangers between books!), but nothing else has changed. For a preview of the original, full-color edition, go here: http://www.elfquest.com/gallery/OnlineComics/GN1/Cover.html and you can scroll through the first few pages of the 10th anniversary edition. If you haven't read Elfquest since you were a kid, or this is your first time picking one up, please consider joining this bookray. It's an open bookray - no limit on participants - and the book will be travelling internationally. If you want in, please PM or email me (BCID = midwinter) and let me know where you're at, and if you're willing to ship internationally. If you do not specify your shipping preferences, I will assume you can ship internationally and will organize the shipping order accordingly. Shade and sweet water!
