I never read the entire Mists of Avalon series. My mom only has the 4th and last book, so that was the first one I read. When she borrowed the other three from a friend, I decided not to wait till she (and my sister too) finished the first book, so I read the third and the second, on reverse order. I can't remember now if I was finishing the second or starting the first when my mother had to return them. So, I never knew how it all began - and since it was about 10 years ago, I hardly remember how it started ;-)
