In my family we pass books through a long line of relatives. Whenever a book starts from or gets to me I register it, put in a bookplate and pass it on to the next family member. So far no one has made journal entries for any of these books, and I don't push anyone to, but I figure eventually they always make it out of the immediate family (since most of us never ask for our books back) and maybe someday, somewhere, someone will make an entry and it will be a nice surprise! As long as the books keep moving I don't worry too much about the journal entries. I find that while some of my family think BookCrossing is a cool idea, so far none of them have decided to get involved. And while I'm convinced that if they did sign up, they'd be hooked, I can't get upset with them about it because they all have their own things that they like to do, a lot of which, I can honestly say that I'm not into. To each his own!
