Southway School demolished!!! Wow. I assume you mean the comprehensive. I went
to Southway Junior and then onto Sutton High (no longer in existence). Both my
brothers went to Southway Comp.

As to pasties, back in the old days Sutton was outside the Ginsters factory on
Regent Street soit was often there that I picked up my lunch. I look forward to
some independant testing of the local roduce when I visit. But also am looking
forward to re-visiting the little fish and chip shop by the fish market on the
Barbican.

Last time I visited Plymouth, it was in fact a little sad. The city was looking
really run down and tired. I guess with the large unemployment in the South
West there was just no money about. Southway was looking quite grim and not a
little dangerous. It's good that it sounds like some money is being spent to
rejunivate the area.

Brussels isn't that expensive. I would say that it is more costly than Madrid
but a lot cheaper than London. I thnk hotels might be a little pricey, but that
is due to the huge number of foreign workers at the EU.

My mother and I have a difference of opinion over pasties, she never ate Ivor
dewdneys when i was younger however now they are the best pasties, however i
beg to differ, i do not like Ivor Dewdneys , preferring the Oggie Oggie Pasty
shop offerings. Perhaps you and your fiance could do some non biased research
and test both ?
Southway has not changed much since 1987, re the houses etc. however they have
flattened the school which is really weird as it was a pinnacle and could be
seen where you stood from Tamerton Foliot to southway drive.( i left there in
1979).
I used to be a comm nurse and used to zip all around Plymouth so kept up to
date with things- have not been there for about 12 months now.
Plymouth city is changing too when was the last time you were here? they have
flattened most of the city centre to make way for a new era.....actually i
think it will improve the eyesores we had and hopefully put plymouth on the
map.Hopefully it will look less like a building site when you visit!

Anyhow hope you have a good day in Brussels, is it as expensive as they say
living out there?
