Jill thanks so much for your input!!! I was really excited hearing from someone from New Zealand. I checked out the sites you gave me. For starters I'm going to read Penguin History of NZ by Michael King, Tu by Patricia Grace, Owls Do Cry by Janet Frame, and The Bone People by Keri Hulme. Unfortunately when we first visit a country we come on a tour to get sort of an overview and then come back on our own. We'll be in Christchurch, Queenstown, and Auckland. The tour is having dinner with a NZ family and suggests we bring a gift. Of course we'll bring a book .anything else you might suggest??? We live in horse country (Saratoga Springs) in upstate New York. Your help has been greatly appreciated!!!! Sandy ( zoomingabia ) [EMAIL PROTECTED]
