You have reminded me. My cat did this same trick, but she had been
run over by a car, and had a broken pelvis. She squeezed under the
cage door (HOW?????) and disappeared. She was not seen to days. My
brother didn't tell my mother of I because we were in Melbourne, and
he didn't want to upset our holiday. We flew over to the vet's, had
STRONG words with him,and searched everywhere. We thought she had
died somewhere, as she kidneys weren't working. BUT Cats can know
best and she turned up a few days later. The vet refused to keep her
there any longer, put a drainage tube in her back, gave us the
antibiotics and told us to keep her inside. YEAH right. It lasted a
day before she was outside. She lived another 6 years. Before passing
away of old age. Silly cat, took up stalking the cows for fun after
that. Stressed them right out!
