The website can be slow at times but more often than not it works just fine.  
For me it's also a convenient way to keep track of what I've already read and 
what is in my TBR pile.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who has bought the same 
book twice!  Also, by sharing my books with other BCers my books get to travel 
to a lot of places I probably never will and through requests and WishLists my 
books get to people who actually want to read them.  I've found that wild 
releases, although fun, don't get journaled very often even though I know they 
get picked up.  All I can say is give it another shot and if it isn't for you, 
that's ok.  At least you've discovered the fun of passing on books and that's 
really what it's all about anyway.
