Do you B/C label books you buy to trade at PBS or other trading sites? I do! I rarely put B/C books up to trade online, unless I bought it myself, or if it's a B/C book I orig. obtained via PBS.
Last week I got an email from a gal in WA who joined Book Crossing from the label in the book I sent her via PBS :). (I bought the book for trading, The Red Tent by Anita Diamant). I sent her a nice warm welcome email, explained a bit about B/C, told her about labels, the Newbies Forum for ?s, or offered to assist any way I could via email. She hadn't make an entry, so I explained how to do that if she was so inclined. On my Paperback Swap outgoing books, I've had approx. 4 or 5 people make anonymous journal entries; 5 or 6 people were Book Crossers already who made entries; and a couple who said they were going to join B/C but didn't. Besides the B/C label, on a post-it on the front cover I write "Hello Kind Reader! I am a traveling book. You are invited to note my new location & make comments about the book. It's Free, Fun & You Can Be Anonymous. See Label Inside & Good Reading to You!" Anyway, I'm happy labelling the books I send out for trading paid off. I hope the new member will enjoy B/C as much as I do :) Have you told a friend today? http://bookcrossing.com/tellafriend Archives and email list settings: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BookCrossing Yahoo!
