While there are some lists of BCers-to-be-wary-of, it may not be a good idea to rely on those exclusively - it's hard to tell whether somebody who's on those lists may have mended their ways since then, and it's even more likely that there are people who aren't on those lists at all yet. I prefer to check up on would-be bookring participants myself, on a case-by-case basis, and by looking at their own bookshelves, journal entries, and any forum posts made by or about them. This isn't perfect either - and does take a bit more time - but I think it's more likely to be helpful than relying on a list alone.
Here's a recent post of mine in the Bookring forum explaining how I generally go about this, FWIW: http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/20/3276098 Hope that helps! -GoryDetails See the books I've set free at: http://bookcrossing.com/referral/GoryDetails Have you told a friend today? http://bookcrossing.com/tellafriend Archives and email list settings: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BookCrossing Yahoo!
