  I forgot about the books and sites!
   
  Ask where your friend is seeing the oncologist, if you call they should be 
able to put you in touch with a social worker who deals only with cancer 
patients.  I'm sure if you called and said you were a friend who wanted to help 
they would answer your questions.  My social worker also has a library of books 
to be checked out and knows which ones for which cancer!  Nordstrom puts on 
free beauty sessions for chemo patients in my area.  The oncology nurses and 
social worker should put you in touch with all kinds of services for your 
friend!
