Hello all,
First, let me thank those who have been so kind to
answer my post. I have received many useful
suggestions.
Brenda, the local library is a lost cause. when I
first moved here I was ready to join the Friends of
the Library group and participate and buy new books
for the library, etc. I love libraries. I gave it a
year. What I found was that the Friends is a small
group of people who have been together for a long time
and are not interested in the opinions of "outsiders."
I also gave three books - news ones I particularly
purchased because I have an interest in Pitcairn
Island and the mutiny on the Bounty and found that the
library had NOTHING on the subject - except a movie.
One of the books was a beautifully photographed
cookbook by a Pitcairn Islander filled not only with
recipes but local history. The library director did
not want it.
So I am thrilled to have had a friend recommend
Bookcrossings.
Keep the great ideas coming, please.
