I know of some Starbucks locations that have set themselves up as Official BookCrossing Zones, while I have heard of others that, like the one mentioned, make a habit of discarding (or, at best, putting into lost-and-found) any items left behind. If in doubt, it's best to ask a staff member or manager; if they seem interested in BookCrossing you might even get a book-swap shelf set up, and if they're adamant about not condoning left-behind books then at least you know not to release there.
