LibraryThing.com is great & fun. I also  have a basic Excel database to have
all my info in an easily copyable form. LibraryThing is nice because it also
gives you 'off-site' (aka not in your house) storage for the list.

I also have Media Manager, which I really like. It also will do music,
videos, and software.

This is assuming that you're not talking about cataloging like a library
does - in that case, you're on your own, unless you've got a handy
librarian...  :)
