I'm on hotmail too, and it's as easy as biscuit. Put your cursor on the first letter of the bit you want to cut, press the left mouse-button (the one you use most often), andf keeping it pressed, drag it down the page or along the line to the last bit you want to cut. Then go to the top of the screen, click "edit", click "cut" and the whole lot you marked will disappear by magic.
