G'dday. Just a moment ago I recorded the release of four books.
One of them had the BCID XYY-5856287, where X is one numeral suppressed for security and Y is another numeral suppressed for security. All four books were copies of the same book given to me by the author to distribute as I saw fit, and all four of them had been registered in the same hit yesterday along with six other copies that I haven't yet released. Three of them, I was able to record the release without any problems. With this one, though, I got the red-red-red message that the three digits at the beginning of the BCID didn't latch the real thee digits for that book. I double-checked my release-note-scrap-of-paper (since I wandered around town releasing the four at the same time, I made notes on paper as I went to later update the computer records), and hwen I checked it, the number seemed to be correct. So then I decided to try and use the prefic XXY, thinking that even though I was careful as I wrote them down, I may have accidentally doubled the wrong figure in the prefix. That also came up as wrong. So I went to my "bookshelf" and hunted down the copy of the book that ended with the same numeric string. Its prefix was XYY, just as I had written down, and just as I had tried to release without success. So I conducted an experiment. I went back to the "release books" link and tried again. Got the warning message again. Then went back to the copy on my bookshelf and used the link within that actual copy's page. It worked, but it wouldn't work from outside the book's own personal space. Looks as if there might be an occasional problem with the release software, or the site as a whole may need some cleaning up and checking for malicious code.
