>Hi, nisaba000. This is the kind of question that you should submit
to the BookCrossing Support team via the "contact" link at the bottom
of the BookCrossing pages;

Yeah, I thought about that, then thought if I threw it here, if other people
had soimilar problems they'd come forward, and if they didn't, maybe I was
having a momentary lapse of reason this morning.

> I see that its prefix is definitely of the
form "XXY"; you should be able to see that yourself when viewing the
individual book or looking at your bookshelf. ...

>If you really did try making release notes by entering the "XXY"
prefix and the correct remainder of the BCID, I don't know why you
got an error; I tried it and it worked fine.

That's what got to me: I tried a few times from the "release" link off my
bookshelf and it wouldn't work, but when I entered the actual book, it
worked. And yes, I was aware I'd registered several, and when looking
amongst them on my bookshelf I looked to find the right one by the last
seven numbers, which didn't seem to be a part of the problem.

> But I suspect it was some kind of typo, as I've never seen a
situation where the book's own "make release notes" link worked but
typing the *same* BCID into the "release book" page's BCID-box did
not work.

That's what amazed me, that I could m,ake release notes when I approached
the book one way, but couldn't when I approached it the other way. I'm
hoping it was a type, so far no one else has come out of hte woodwork saying
they've had similar troubles.
