The backward compatibility point is a good one. I suppose we could rewrite the 
znode once we release 4.3.0, no? One option actually is that we get this patch 
in 4.2.3, and do the znode rewrite in 4.3.0. This way we have an upgrade path. 
Otherwise, it looks good to me.
