I finally did this yesterday after getting a high quality cable to
connect it.
There is an option in the Audio settings available via LMS to set Line
In to be always on. The help tip said "...for Karaoke". With this in
place I let the Harmony power the Boom on and off when starting and
stopping activities. This arrangement is working fine for me.

The sound is much better than with my TV's built in speakers. I had to
set Line In level to 100 in order for it to be usable though, I hope
that is a good setting.
One thing I did notice in the very little time using it is that dialogue
is not as easy to pick up. Can anyone recommend any settings to assist
with this? I set StereoXL to high since the unit is small and speakers
are close together.
