I have a MacBook Pro running Catalina with latest updates. I've just
downloaded the MacOS version of LMS 7.9.3 that Michael linked to in his
post in this thread. It was the pkg file, not a dmg, and is described as
Mac OSX.

FWIW: I'm doing all devepment on a MacBook, currently running Catalina.
It certainly does work.
