Zybnek made some comments over on the Boost.Build list:

My personal preference is to add margins to the sides so the text does not run all the way from one border of the window to the other.

the huge green navbar at the top. It totally does not fit in with the rest of the document. IMHO a navbar to be at each page have to be nonintrusive (small, not much colors) and usefull (something that you really need at each page) and it should have at least similar design as the rest of the document.

Reece, I think you've already addressed these two.

I do not think it is a good idea to start with such a huge toc. Maybe a mix of condensed version and/or synopsis and/or "how to use this document" would be better.

I'm with Doug on this one. Often when I'm using docs for reference I know exactly which section I'm looking for, so I like a full TOC to be able to jump directly there. Other times, I'm looking for specific details, and I like being able to scan a full TOC for the right place, rather than reading an entire chapter to find the information.

Also the local tocs kind of stand in the way of reading. I like them more out of the way (ie. on the right side where I've put them in my php version of the manual).

I'm with Zbynek on this one; I like having the local TOC, but off to the side where it doesn't break up the flow.

Maybe it should have less separate files? Or maybe some top navbar that would highlight at least the chapter I am in? Maybe some "bread crumbs" navigation?

Perhaps we can have something like the headings of a reference book, like:

Chapter 3: Tutorial Library Dependencies

So that you always know the context of the section you're reading. I'm not sure how that would interfere/distract from our other nav elements, so it's just a suggestion.
