I've some problems with various inline elements of Docbook. The first problem is that I'm always confused which one to use: <code>, <literal>, <parameter>, <function> and 20 more seem almost the same for me. Anybody has a link to a good style guide?
Second, I'm not happy with formatting of either <code> or <literal>. For example, take a look at: http://zigzag.lvk.cs.msu.su/~ghost/boost_docs/lambda_sect_using_library.html The "sort" identifier after the fourth example looks almost the same as the rest of the text. Looking at http://boost.org/boost-build2/doc/html/bbv2.advanced.builtins.targets.html I see the same problem: the identifies lib "lib" do not stand out. I've tried to compare this to the look of a printed book. In http://boost-consulting.com/tmpbook/preprocessor.pdf identifiers do stand out, because main text is in relatively thick serif font and identifiers are in thin courier. If we stick to sans-serif for the main text, what are we to do with <code> formatting? Any idea? - Volodya ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IT Product Guide on ITManagersJournal Use IT products in your business?
