Second, I'm not happy with formatting of either <code> or <literal>. For example, take a look at:

The "sort" identifier after the fourth example looks almost the same as the rest of the text.
It looks OK to me; maybe you and I have different browser defaults for sans-serif and fixed-width fonts? Anyway, I'm open to any suggestions.
