I recently became deeply frustrated with Emacs' psgml-mode for editing
BoostBook documents (actually I never stopped being frustrated), and so
found http://www.thaiopensource.com/nxml-mode/ which seems to hold much
more promise. Accordingly I have translated the BoostBook DTD into a
corresponding compact RelaxNG schema (I don't really know what that
means; I just used automated tools to do it). If anyone would like
these, or if Doug would like me to check them into CVS, I'd be happy to
do it.

Cheers,
