Quickbooks rationale is encouraging maximum user laziness. The limitation placed on characters in anchors reduces the amount of laziness I can employ without affecting the output ( I have to do [link my_anchor my-anchor] instead of [link my-anchor] ) and therefore goes against Quickbooks rationale. Allowing hyphens could of course be optional and off by default. OTOH I do appreciate that the argument could open up a can of worms.
