Quickbooks rationale is encouraging maximum user laziness. The limitation
placed on characters in anchors reduces the amount of laziness I can employ
without affecting the output ( I have to do [link my_anchor my-anchor] instead
of [link my-anchor] ) and therefore goes against Quickbooks rationale. Allowing
hyphens could of course be optional and off by default.
OTOH I do appreciate that the argument could open up a can of worms. Where do
you draw the line on allowed characters, and also there are good reasons for
keeping the design as simple as possible so its not the end of the world for me
if things stay as they are.
I don't mind adding the hyphen to the list of allowed characters in
link identifiers. Are there any objections?
