Very unhappy. I won't bother with a patch now. Instead here's what I
have in mind:

Great page! However, DFN should format as **bold**, not /italic/.
This convention is used by Addison-Wesley (see C++TMP) and the
rationale is unassailable, IMO. Italics tend to be skinny and
actually disappear into the page, whereas bold stands out. When
you're scanning text, it's important to be able to quickly pick out
the definition and distinguish it from the other uses.
OK I'll change that... Italics is the browser default. But I should know
by now that browser defaults are often unconventional.
Issues:
In
http://boost.redshift-software.com/doc/release/libs/python/doc/building.html,
why do the section headings highlight on mouse-over, yet do nothing
when clicked? Combined with the underlines, that's very confusing!
It's a side effect of your habit of wrapping the anchor links around the
headings instead of putting the empty anchor link in front of the title.
I.e. doing:
<h4><a href="#x">X</a></h4>
Instead of:
<h4><a href="#x"></a>X</h4>
Without any additional styling context I can't use CSS to remove the
link effect from those :-(
In firefox 1.5, when I switch pages, it's very common for a dark blue
background to flash up before the page redraws again and looks
normal. Why's that? For example, choose "Requirements and
Guidelines" from the menu at
http://boost.redshift-software.com/development/exemplar.html
Probably a load delay, browsers start rendering the page before it's
completely loaded. The overall background of the web site is the blue
you see at the bottom. This is required so that the bottom looks correct.
The menu on the right is vertically very crowded, and at many sizes
the lines seem to overlap and highlights don't seem to align properly
with the text they cover.
Yep it's a bug :-) It's on my TODOs.
