parses as and [* foo [bar]] parses as <bold>foo [bar</bold>] It seems as though misspellings can easily lead to surprises: since bar is not a keyword or template name, the preceding open bracket is treated as plain text. That worries me; I rather think [] should be matched unless escaped.
