It depends upon what you are doing, I think "occationally broken, mostly
working" would be a reasonable approximation.  Problems such as the ones you
describe should be the exception rather than the rule, and should be fixed
promptly (in other words authors should be prepared to respond reasonably
prompty to fallout from any changes they make), but I don't think anyone
could guarentee that everything works all the time :-(

I hope not, as I say report problems, and be prepared to revert to the last
good version if you can't wait for any needed fixes...
I hope reporting them here suffices. It appeared to me from messages here that the bug reporting facility in sourceforge isn't that well liked. Though I'd have no difficulty posting them there also.
