That's the right way around, yes - you don't need a connection manager in your application, you need a client. That client may happen to connect to a server over BOSH, or vanilla XMPP-over-TCP, but it's just a client. I think your best bet is to look at the current Python (GAE's Python, right?) libraries for one that does BOSH, or to add support yourself. Personally, I'm very fond of the SleekXMPP library, but that doesn't do BOSH yet. /K
