definitely (GNU) Emacs for me
cperl-mode is a joy (mostly)
Perl isn't the simplest of languages to syntax-highlight and do other
intelligent things with, as you may imagine.
anyway, the pain of Emacs soon becomes addictive ;-)
I've been using it for too many years not to consider giving it up.
I believe VIM also does pretty good Perl highlighting and such, you might
like a look at that, if you're used to vi?
