Lately I've been databasing everything, even getting a bar code reader and
cataloguing my library so it probably comes as no surprise that I have yet
another site that I'm looking for ideas and feedback on.
The current obsession is a site for CPAN mirror information which started
out as wanting to make a world map of cpan sites like the bath.pm map for
monger groups but digressed.
http://mirror.cpan.org/allmirrors.cgi is just a debugging page that lists
all the info but I'm looking for feedback and ideas on how this
information might be more usefull than the 'mirrored.by' file.
Current ideas include;
1. the world map
2. 'current status' for each updated daily
3. 'regional cpan mirror' based on GPS info
4. more streamlined/efficient registering of mirrors
5. site specifically for mirrors and mirroring information
Is there anything else one might do with this sort of info that I'm not
aware of? Any comments and ideas will be appreciated.
