A lot of people like it though. From what I can tell it's the BBEdit of
the Win32 world: excellent low cost, versatile & efficient editor that has
a strangely fanatical group of followers.

I personally use vim/gvim, as it's much more versatile than the base vi
and it presents the same console/gui interface to every platform I've
tried it on (Mac9/X, Win98/NT, Linux, Solaris). If it wasn't free I'd
have no problem paying for it anyway.

But, Lee was asking about UltraEdit, and from what I've heard it has an
excellent reputation, and is worth the thirty-five bucks.
