C++ not a standard? While C# isn't on the same 'standard' level as C++ it does have all the Javaish attributes of Unicode/bytecode/GC and reflection, plus more (which one could argue either way).

In terms of time-to-market on windows, C# will get you there quicker and easier then Java will.
No more hacking around with COM bridges/JNI wrappers for example.
