If I understand you correctly, the DBD::Pg that is on cpan is a bit out of
date. I vaugely remember a note on a Postgres mailing list to the effect
that the postgres people found it hard to work w/ the CPAN people to
update the module.
The current stable verison seems to be at the posgress project site:
