Good, old fashioned solid clicking keys. Built like a tank.
Got mine from SmallDog (in VT).
I'm about to order a second one to leave at the office to plug into my laptop.
I haven't tried plugging it directly into a windows or linux box, though. However, I routinely pull up windows via terminal services (rdesktop under x-windows) on my mac and the command key triggers the Start menu. FWIW.
