Quick answer is yes. I've seen it done in some online store (sadly, I don't remember which), which when you try to check out, gives you two options: - Register, and be able to track your package, optionally have the site remember your details, etc. - Continue without registering, with the understanding that you will not be able to use the site for any of the above, and will have to call customer service if you do need help (since they can look up your order by CC details). I think this approach makes sense if you do have people answering phones. If you're just running via the web, the second option will just cause your customers (and you) grief.
