FYI... -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Plat_Forms: Perl is now included Date: Thu, 12 Oct 2006 16:27:14 +0200 From: Lutz Prechelt <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Dear Folks, thank you all for patiently (or, in some cases, not-so-patiently) educating me about the state of Perl as a web development language. As a result, my misjudgment is now corrected, Perl teams will be admitted into Plat_Forms, and the website has been updated accordingly: http://www.plat-forms.org/ http://www.plat-forms.org/faq.htm I would like to emphasize that I am not at all biased against Perl. I am a Perl programmer myself since about 1992 (that was still Perl 4). I had just completely missed to learn about most Perl developments in the web sector. Now the only question is: Will enough Perl teams actually apply for the contest? I'd be very happy if you would follow-up the prodding for protest that some have sent over various Perl mailing lists with prodding for participation now... Thanks for your help, see you all in Nürnberg, Lutz Prechelt P.S.: Two of you suggested to allow for remote submissions. I see that and why it would be great if we could do this, but we can't. See the explanation in faq.htm. _______________________________________________ Boston-pm mailing list [email protected] http://mail.pm.org/mailman/listinfo/boston-pm
