Sr. Perl Software & QA Engineer (Contract)
-------------------------------------------------

SiteSpect, Inc., a Boston-based web software firm, seeks to fill a contract
position for a seasoned software developer who can serve as a quality
assurance (QA) engineer. The term of the contract is three months and may
be extended based on the success of the candidate.

Ideal candidates are expected to be at a very high level of proficiency
with QA practices and procedures, with emphasis on Perl and CPAN
modules. The QA engineer will work within our software development team to
research, recommend, and then ultimately execute upon a plan to build out a
testing framework that covers load testing, UI and back-end validation
testing, stress testing, robustness testing, and data comparison testing.

Roles and responsibilities:

 * Research, recommend, plan and build an automated test suite/platform.
 * Measure degree of code/features that are covered by test suite.
 * Create precedence for, and then assist team members with creation of
   unit tests.
 * Document all facets of test/QA procedures and systems.

Requirements and skills:

 * Demonstrated experience in software testing / software QA / test engineering
 * 4+ years professional experience with software development, preferably
   focused on LAMP stacks using mod_perl.
 * Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and hands-on
   experience with QA methodologies.
 * Experience with black box and white box testing tools, products, and
   modules (e.g., CPAN) specifically for web and multi-tier applications.
 * Experience in writing and execution of test plans, test cases, and
   procedures.
 * Proven communication and documentation skills.
 * Degree in engineering or technical discipline (or equivalent) is preferred.
