This is ALMOST as early as 2nd Tuesday ever falls ...

Anyone want to have open office hours Tuesday?
If so I'll resume starting a JITSI meeting at the usual time (6:30 - 9 pm
et), and post link here (email) and on website (boston.pm.org/bpm/Calendar)
Just In Time.

(I never sent an announcement or started a screen share last month
(January) so there was no meeting.)

I am not inclined to offer to screen-share a you-tube (as that seems silly,
though we could, and some do) however some recent news may provide topics
of conversation if some have seen them already (and if folks wanted to view
together MST3K style, we could??)

* perl.com got hijacked. It's gotten (mostly) un-hijacked.

* brian d foy – Looking forward to Perl 7, Oslo Perl Mongers, Streamed 5
days ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiGxe3wYhD8

* FYI, Perl 5.34.0 is releasing this spring; the new Steering Council is
(still) (re)considering the proposal for Perl 7.
    5.33/34 looks likely to have experimental feature try, catch keywords
  (following syntax of PEVAN's module Syntax::Keyword::Try)
  (5.32 added `isa` to core, and chained comparisons :`if ( $x < $y <= $z
)...` )

* Mark Gardner - Houston P.M. Thursday 11th : Zoom  “Better Perl:
Subroutine Signatures and Type Validation” following his prior blog post

https://phoenixtrap.com/index.php/2021/02/07/im-presenting-at-houston-perl-mongers-this-week/

https://phoenixtrap.com/index.php/2021/01/27/better-perl-with-subroutine-signatures-and-type-validation/
  (Hmm. That has an amusing way to communicate a secure meeting password to
the right people!)

* Paul Evans ("LeoNerd", PEVANS) - Writing a Perl Core Feature -
https://leonerds-code.blogspot.com/2021/02/writing-perl-core-feature-part-1.html
& Part 2.
