Seize the Initiative!
Learn your rights, maximize
your participation What nonprofit organizations can do
to
influence ballot initiative efforts this
November This year, Colorado may have as
many as 10 statewide ballot initiatives or referenda concerning a wide
array of issues: domestic partnership, minimum wage, ethics in government
and more.
The
Colorado Consumer Health
Initiative, in partnership with
Colorado
Common Cause,
Colorado Center on
Law and Policy and the
Bell Policy
Center, is holding a training for nonprofit organizations to discuss
how we can participate in the fight for or against issues being placed on
our November ballot.
This will be a training for those who may
have been involved in past efforts, such as Referendum C, as well as
anyone interested in getting involved for the first time.
Who should
attend?
- Anyone whose board of directors or executive director has questioned
their level of involvement in ballot initiatives.
- Anyone who would like clear directions about the red lights and
green lights to follow when getting involved in ballot initiatives.
- Anyone who has ever wished their organization was more involved in
electoral work and wants to make a huge impact in this upcoming
election.
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions,
this training is for you!
