I think the reason why the BN has trouble with some Word documents is the creator of the document has features in it the BN doesn't support. Pictures, graphics, tables, bullets, and other formatting and so on. I remember Jonathan posting about this and I believe he said the issue is features the document contains not the version of Word being used.
