Now I know this is going to sound strange and I'm going to get yelled at again,
but seriously, is there some place at the church where you could keep one of
those small TV tables folded up and get it out when you are there. The folding
legs should let it fit between pews, and it would give you a better working
surface, and you could set the braillenote on the seat beside you and just fold
it you need to stand or kneel. I realize this would take up more space in the
area, but you could just pretend you are very wide and people wouldn't dare
complain.
